Payload [definition]1) The essential data that is being carried within a packet or other transmission unit. The payload does not include the "overhead" data required to get the packet to its destination. Note that what constitutes the payload may depend on the point-of-view. To a communications layer that needs some of the overhead data to do its job, the payload is sometimes considered to include the part of the overhead data that this layer handles. However, in more general usage, the payload is the bits that get delivered to the end user at the destination.

Payload: ingl., carico utile. Il payload può essere riferito ad un pacchetto, ad un frame o ad un'altra unità per la trasmissione dei dati. Nei frame, per esempio, è quella parte dati priva dell'intestazione (ingl., header) e del checksum (in coda), quindi del pacchetto gestito al Livello di rete. Cfr. Modello TCP/IP.

RispondiEliminahmm... come dicevo al mio amico Des ieri mentre camminavamo verso il Dillon's: "il payload è utilizzato dai virus per riempire di cacca le trame informative (frame) dei pacchetti di rete per fargli fare quello che vogliono, bene anche le persone sono come dei virus perchè molte volte riempiono la testa degli altri esclusivamente di cagate inutili volte al solo scopo di fargli fare solo ciò che vogliono."
